George Edwards was born in Brandon in 1892 (Thetford Q1-1893 4B:379), son of Robert and Clara Elizabeth EDWARDS (née RUDD).

] 1901 census...Aged 8, he was at Holly House, London Road, Brandon with his father Robert EDWARDS [40] a hatter's carrier born Brandon; his mother Clara [38] born Feltwell; brother William H [11] and sister Dora E [1] both born in Brandon. There was another brother, Walter (1889-1892)

1911 census...George has not been identified in this census, probably boarding somewhere in London/Hertfordshire. His parents were still at Holly House, London Road, Brandon with his brother William (hatter's furrier) and sister Dora. 2 of the 5 siblings had died

On 24th May 1914, a footman, aged 22, living at 15 Westbourne Terrace, Paddington, he married 23 years old Alice Maud BURCH (daughter of Philip Chilton BURCH) at the parish church in Paddington. It seems they had a son, Walter G P born St Pancras 1916.

He enlisted at S.Pancras when resident in Watford.
The battalion were in support near Wancourt and about 10 pm on 1st May they moved back to NEPAL Trench, where George is recorded amongst the wounded of "B" Company that day.
He died on 3rd May at No.20 Casualty Clearing Station at Warlincourt.

George Edwards is buried in the Warlincourt Halte British Cemetery, Saulty grave 10:F:14
